Amazing from start to finish. Be sure to make reservations, we ate ate the window in the bar which was quite entertaining! From the appetizers to the main meal all was perfection. Ahi tuna the best we have had on a bed of seaweed and thinly sliced cucumber. Firecracker ship and peanuts precise mix of heat and flavor. Scallops brown and tender on a bed of risotto and peas (& I don't like peas!) Shrimp and sausage over grits. Highly recommend more than one meal.

We heard so many good things about Michy's lately so we decided to venture out of Rehoboth and try it. The firecracker shrimp app was good the calamari ok and then it was down hill from there. All four of us rated our meals about a 5 out of 10. My salmon looked like it was pieced together from canned salmon, the short ribs were nothing more than a bland pot roast, and the chicken Milanese was so-so. Oh well, $300 later and a disappointing experience for the four of us was all we took away. Sorry Michy's... Nice enough people but you need to improve your food quality and flavor.

I had dubious expectations for this place, based on the divergent yelp reviews and the lack of a real menu listed on the website. When we arrived to the place, unassumingly nestled into a strip mall, I did't really expect much. Thankfully, I was blown away. Once you step inside, you completely forget that you're one door away from the food lion. The bright blue walls are perfect for a beach town, and the open-concept kitchen, fun modern artwork, and mismatched chairs feel upscale without being pretentious. It really is "relaxed" - despite being 5-star food, you don't feel out of place in jeans or even shorts (which is completely appropriate for the shore). The food is impressive, with thoughtful combinations in the entrees. Everything sounded delicious, but I went with the grouper and was pleased - the seasoning was perfect, and the jasmine rice and mango sauce was yummy. Appetizers, including the calamari, firecracker shrimp, and clams, were all delicious as well. Almost everyone in our party ordered something different, and everyone was pretty pleased with their food. The one odd thing about this place was the service. Despite a chef's counter that featured fresh-mixed oil and vinegar paired with bread, our waitress never brought us any, later claiming she thought we had enough food (umm, excuse me? Let the DINER make that decision). My water glass was also removed from the table well before dinner was finished, leaving me to grab my boyfriend's instead. Definitely worth a trip for good food - just make sure you don't get cheated out of anything!

Great food & drink, relaxed atmosphere chef has found the secret to cooking fish (any kind) to perfection. Very generous portions. Outstanding firecracker shrimp for appetizer. Entrees included cioppino which I thought was great until I tasted my wife's barramundi - fabulous. Died and went to heaven with homemade bread pudding.

You could almost call me a regular here now. Michele and Richard are great and they have done wonders in a space that traditionally has not done well. Food is second to none in Rehoboth and my wife and I are rapidly working our way through the menu. Staple great dishes are, the Calamari as previously mentioned in a review, excellent. The pork chop or the short rib for meat lovers, both are expertly prepared and so full of flavor and oh so tender. My wife keeps getting the scallops, cooked to perfection and very high quality product. Salads and home made soups are a great addition and plenty more on the menu to try. Wait staff and bartenders are all very friendly and the open style kitchen lets you see the kitchen hard at work preparing your food. Superb food without the traffic of downtown.

Went for happy hour to support a different place. Not acknowledged by bartenders at all (we were 3 gay guys not flaming mind you). Group of 4 ladies come in after us & both bartenders stop what they were doing and offer them a genuine welcome and run down of specials. Not sure what that was about. Space is nice. Food looked great but did not partake, may come back to try good and hopefully find it more welcoming.

Came once again and sat at the bar. Place is always packed so thinking this one will stick around! Shared the shrimp appetizer which were good as usual. Also had the clams which might be the best EVER! We were told people ask for the juice to go and one even drank it with a straw. Also black bean soup which was top notch. This is our go to place on route 1!

Wow! What a meal! My tummy is smiling. This place is a total hit, from the unique drinks to the friendly service to the awesome food. We had a Cherimoya martini from Robert the stellar barkeep. So unusual and delicious. The calamari appetizer is outstanding - not chewy or over breaded but crispy outside and tender inside and a spicy sweet sauce. The beef tenderloin was heaven, cooked just right and the side veggies were not just an afterthought but had snap and crunch. My partner had Mahi Mahi with a lobster sauce that was amazing. Can't say enough good things about this place!!!!

I can't say anything bad about Michys. We started with some of their specialty drinks from the bar and they were so unique and delicious. My husband got a bacon maple old fashioned that came with a slice of bacon on a toothpick. The food was worthy of a fine dining restaurant. I had a filet that melted in my mouth, the sides were beyond the typical and just delicious. My only note would be to expect to pay for the perfection because it's not cheap but not unreasonable either, especially for the quality.

Wish they were open on Sunday and Monday's...since we are local and live here year round. Other than the fact that it's in a strip mall with Food Lion, this place is great. Happy hour prices are great, the mixology at the bar is some of the best in town. The crab cakes are some of the best around too. Had the Tuna Sashimi for dinner and it was outstanding. There were 4 of us and everyone loved their meal. The service was super friendly, Not overbearing--just right. We will go more often now that we have discovered it.

I celebrated my birthday on July 11 at this fabulous dining establishment and all 16 people who attended my dinner were equally impressed with the quality of the food, the attentiveness of the staff and the atmosphere of the restaurant.I have eaten here before and each time it just gets better.Bravo Mechys. The best place in town by far.

Food is wonderful as well as the service. Very friendly place and it lives up to it's name. Very relaxed atmosphere and we all had an enjoyable meal. When you all go, the calamari is a must try as well as the fire cracker shrimp appetizer. All the main courses everyone had, crab cakes, chicken milanese, salmon, and rigatoni bolognese, were all excellent as well. And there is easy, free parking also!

Came for Happy Hour. Prices are fair for the portions of food. Had the poached pear salad (not on happy hour menu) and crab cakes. Pretty good meal for $20! Bartender serviced well. I will come back to try the salmon entree.

My friend and I met for dinner last week and sat at the bar. The atmosphere is warm and the place is very well done inside. The bartender was extremely friendly and attentive throughout our visit. We had clams and calamari for apps and they were outstanding! The portion on the calamari was huge. We both had entrees that were equally delicious. Mahi mahi crusted in crab with risotto and a chef special of blackened salmon and scallops over butternut squash risotto. Nice portions and appropriately seasoned. Ended the visit with a fantastic expresso martini. So glad I stumbled onto this gem. It was packed solid on a Wed, so make a reservation or go early

This is the kind of restaurant whose existence is jealously guarded by its regulars. It's so good, you can't believe your good fortune at having discovered it. But it is so small, you fear sharing your jubilation with very many people for fear the won't be any reservations available the next time you want to go. We have dined here twice now - both experiences have been superb, from the gracious welcome to the unobtrusive and competent service, and, of course, the standout menu. The food is scrupcious and there is something for everyone. Portions border on huge, so it is wise to plan on some sharing of you want to sample a number of courses. We loved the calamari, the firecracker shrimp is superb, and the Caesar salad and poached pear salads were fresh and fabulous. Entrees range from pasta to savory long braised short ribs. Desserts are equally tasty and house made. Cocktail livers will appreciate the imaginative mixology. We will return again (and again).

I enjoyed my first experience here. I was very impressed with the renovations that they made on the interior. Very eclectic and inviting. We had a reservation at 8p on a Saturday and I was thrilled to see how packed that they were. Always nice to see a restaurant outside of the downtown beach towns that is doing well (and there are more and more of them now). I will first continue with the positives and say that overall, I was happy with MY food choices, which were the heirloom tomato salad (fresh and plentiful), a shared plate of calamari (big plate, lightly fried and came out piping hot with a buffalo type sauce on the top- quite good) and a pasta bowl with fresh ricotta, veal, lamb and sausage. HUGE portion (half of it went home with me) and quite tasty and full of wonderful flavors. One of my friends was not as thrilled with his chicken dish. He said that the chicken was bland and the salad that accompanied it was uninspired (I have to say, though, it LOOKED fantastic). The BIG negative for all of us was the service we received. The woman was amiable enough but she made all kinds of errors (for each course, including drinks, we were given the wrong orders, in two courses, the wrong order that belonged at another table! There were also long gaps of time where the server did not come back to our table. BUT, these seems to be freshman mistakes, and again, she was nice enough and apologized each time she made an error. We had no room for dessert when the time came but the choices looked enticing. Despite the service issues, I was happy with my meal overall enough to rate 4 stars and I would definitely head back. For those looking for a good restaurant that is not downtown (with easy parking and shorter waits) you should check this place out.

The wife and I went there for the first time since it opened in May, and glad we did. We just wanted a place to grab some appetizers and a couple drinks. When we got there noticed the eclectic decor, and friendly greeting from the hostess. We opted to sit in the bar area instead of a table, glad we did. The bartender, forget his name, couldn't do enough for us. Although we ordered a couple of appetizers you could have made a meal out of them. I had the Poached Pair Salad and for her the tuna sashimi, and as usual we stuck our forks in each others meal. The food was served promptly and couldn't be better. Although this was our first trip there you can be rest assured it will not be our last. In fact I have recommended Michy's to several of my friends already.

Our group of 4 had 630 reservations; although we arrived 20 minutes early they sat us quickly. We ordered the firecracker shrimp, without peanuts due to allergy, and was still excellent; tasty, perfectly spiced with good kick. Full bowl of clams with not enough bread to soak up the delicious broth. The sashimi tuna was delicious. Entrees included special salmon and menu salmon and flat iron steak. All were perfectly portioned, prepared and flavored. The service was attentive enough, although, we all felt like we were rushed through. We tried to delay ordering entrees, to no avail. The atmosphere is designed to be "relaxed" but we felt like they were trying too hard to service too many incoming guests. Depending on table size I don't feel we were given adequate amount of time to relax and savor the wonderful food.

If you're a two-some going to Michy's request that you not sit at the table between the bar and the dining room. It's uncomfortable and you get to watch the bartender traipse back and forth from the kitchen to the bar, carrying buckets of ice and 6-packs of beer. For the price, I would have expected more. The food was okay. Again for the price I would have expected better.

Amazing. I found my new go-to restaurant at the beach. I was a little put off by the exterior (strip mall on the highway) but I am so glad I tried it. The food was fantastic. I loved the tuna sashimi. The shrimp and grits (a special I think) was more shrimp than grits and the grits were silky and perfect. Everyone in my party raved about the food. Our waitress, Jess, was awesome. Another wonderful thing about this place is, unlike certain establishments around Rehoboth Avenue, THEY TAKE RESERVATIONS. Not taking reservations is a deal breaker for me because I'm not waiting 2 hours no matter how good the food is. I can't wait to go next time I'm at the beach.

The food is wonderful. But you are rushed to order. I would not mind if we were at a diner, but we were spending a fair amount of money. They need to stop being concerned with turning over tables...unless they want to change the name to Micheys Rushed Dining.

Nicole B and I stopped here for one drink. The food looked and smelled fantastic. There is an adorable herb garden in a claw foot tub in the dining room. A nearby table had scallops and I definitely want to come back for that. The drinks were great and the bartenders were friendly and efficient.

Excellent. We sat at the bar and the service was excellent and attended. Two appetizers made a full and huge meal for my wife. I had the chicken which was tender and perfectly cooked. Can't wait to come back.

Great new place! I got the beet salad as a starter, which was huge and delicious. I then got the crab cake as my main entree, and it was also quite large and tasty. My friend and I split the key lime pie. We had a great time. Would definitely recommend!
